2002 Bangladesh mosque blasts: Bangladeshi national held in Maharashtra

A 42-year-previous Bangladeshi national wanted in connection with three blasts at a mosque in Bangladesh in 2002 has been arrested from Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra, police said on Tuesday.

Functioning on a tip-off, the criminal offense branch of neighbouring Thane Law enforcement arrested Mophajjal Hussain alias Mopha Ali Gazi alias Maphizul Mandal, hailing right from Satkhira in Khulna status of Bangladesh, by Cidco bus stop in Thursday even while he was trying to visit Turbhe in Navi Mumbai, an official said. 

He was residing in Turbhe because the last couple of months and was doing odd careers there.

He was involved in the crude bomb blasts, a single inside and two beyond your mosque in Bangladesh, Thane criminal offense branch law enforcement inspector Nitin Thakre said.

One person was killed and many more injured on the triple blast, which occurred at Ilispur in the jurisdiction of Colarua police station, he said. 

Hussain had shed his right hands when the crude bomb exploded even though he was placing it beyond your mosque, he said.
He was subsequently arrested and awarded lifestyle imprisonment by a courtroom. 

However, he was later granted bail about medical grounds and produced in 2004 following which he absconded and sneaked into India from the border along West Bengal where he does some petty jobs.

He later found Mumbai and was performing at some engineering sites found in the metropolis and Navi Mumbai, he said. 

Hussain was residing at Turbhe in neighbouring Navi Mumbai since last few months and doing odd careers beneath the fictitious name due to Maphizul Mandal, he said.

He was nabbed on Thursday by the criminal offense branch crew on a particular information about him, the state said.
When the authorities asked for his home proof like Aadhaar cards, he was not in a position to provide it.

A senior law enforcement official said during questioning, Hussain admitted that he's an against the law Bangladeshi migrant and found India with no proper documents.
