Out from the 21,331 staff, 19,409 reportedly are garment and textile sector employees, 16,853 are from 86 factories of the Bangladesh Garment Makers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), 2,298 from 16 factories listed with the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) and 258 from four mills beneath the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), according to Bangla press reports.
