Ahsan Khan Chowdhury has been selected as CIP again

The government has once again selected Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pran-RFL Group, as the 'Commercially Important Person' (CIP) for his significant contribution to the export trade. He was given this status in recognition of his significant contribution to the country's economy.
Including this, Ahsan Khan Chowdhury received the CIP status for the seventh time. Of the previous six times, he received three for his special contribution to the export trade and rest three for his significant contribution to the industrial sector.
The Ministry of Commerce has selected 136 commercially important persons (CIP, export) in recognition of their contribution to the country's export trade. Apart from this, 46 directors of the FBCCI have been selected as CIP (trade).
These selected individuals will get the CIP card for the year of 2017. The Ministry of Commerce issued the notification last Saturday (September 7). According to the notification, Ahsan Khan Chowdhury was selected as CIP (Export) in 2017. He has been selected CIP as the Director of Pran Dairy Limited.
Earlier in 2016, Ahsan Khan Chowdhury was selected CIP in the medium-sized industry (manufacturing) sector. He was selected CIP as the Director of RFL Plastics Limited.
Before that, the Ministry of Industry nominated him as 'Commercially Important Person’ (CIP-industry) for the year of 2015. Other than that, he received the CIP (export) card in 2014 as the director of Pran Agro Limited in recognition of his significant contribution to the export trade. In all, he was selected CIP (export) four times and CIP (industry) three times.
According to the CIP policy, CIP cards are issued to selected businessmen. For one year after receiving the card, CIPs will have the priority to reserve seats on public transports of air, rail, road and water during business travels. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will issue a ‘Letter of introduction’ to the embassy in their favor to get visa easily. They will be able to access the VIP Lounge-2 at the airport and get the pass of entrance to the secretariat. In addition, the government may include CIPs as members of an industrial policy-making committee. Other than that, they will have the opportunity to hold important state meetings abroad alongside government policymakers.
Ahsan Khan Chowdhury is the son of late Major General (Retd) Amjad Khan Chowdhury, founder of the Pran-RFL Group. After completing his studies in the United States in 1992, he joined the Pran-RFL Group. 47 years old Ahsan Khan is the father of two children in his personal life.
It should be noted that Pran-RFL Group started its journey in 1981. Since then, Major General (Retd) Amjad Khan Chowdhury has served as the CEO of the group. He died on July 8, 2015.
