Arfan re-appointed president and MD of Bank Asia

Md Arfan Ali has been re-appointed as president and managing director of Bank Asia Ltd for the second term, said a press release.
Arfan started his career with Arab Bangladesh Bank as a probationary officer in 1991. He has more than 28 years of diverse experience in banking industry, it said.
In 1999, he joined Bank Asia before it started its operation and acted as a key team player in Bank Asia for acquisition of the operations of two foreign banks in Bangladesh – Bank of Nova Scotia and Muslim Commercial Bank of Pakistan, said the release.
He pioneered and championed Agent Banking operations in Bangladesh, it said.
Arfan is the chairperson of the SWIFT Members & Users Group of Bangladesh, secretary general of the Association of Bankers, Bangladesh Limited (ABB) and advisor of Bangladesh Money Market Dealers Association (BAMDA), the release said.
He obtained MBA degree from the IBA, Dhaka University.
