When shopping, finding a deal is always ideal. That can be a bit more of a challenge in the weeks leading up to the holiday shopping season, but there are still savings to be had. And if you need something right now, Consumer Reports is here to help. We keep tabs on all the products we test, including big-ticket items like fridges and mattresses, kitchen appliances like air fryers and coffee makers, and smart home products like sprinkler timers and security cameras. Whenever an item that scores well in our ratings goes on sale, we’ll let you know so that you can find the gems amid the duds.

Don’t see what you’re looking for below? Just wait a bit. Target’s Deal Days event is coming this Oct. 6 to 8, followed by widespread sales on mattresses and large appliances. After that, Walmart is holding a Rollbacks and More sale Oct. 10 to 13, while Amazon will have its Prime Early Access Sale on Oct. 11 and 12. And holiday sales at all the major retailers—which begin in earnest in November—aren’t far behind. There’s quite a lot going for this 1,500-watt Emeril Power Toaster Oven. It’s a cinch to operate, and we’ve found that it’s particularly good at making toast and baking cookies. If you’re looking to save counter space, this model doubles as an air fryer, too, and its 0.5-cubic-foot interior has the capability to turn out a 4- to 6-pound rotisserie chicken. The best part? It’s almost half off.

The Ninja Specialty CM401 coffee maker is more than just aesthetically interesting: It also brews a great pot of coffee. This robust 10-cup coffee maker has lots of features, including a permanent cone filter so that you’ll never need to buy paper filters. There’s also an indicator that lets you know when it’s time to deep clean the machine, and a removable water reservoir for even easier fill-ups.

The Oster DiamondForce Nonstick XL 5 Quart Digital Air Fryer’s digital touchscreen is easy to read; and its programmed settings, easy to use—earning it a favorable score in our controls test. This model also doesn’t make too much noise, and cleaning the inside and outside doesn’t take a lot of elbow grease. Despite the air fryer’s name, the basket has a measured capacity of 3.6 quarts. Like other models we tested, this one comes with a one-year warranty.

A CR Best Buy, the GoWise GW22731 air fryer has a measured capacity of 4.9 quarts. Its touch buttons and programmed settings are among the easiest to see and use. And this is one of the quietest air fryers we’ve tested. But the exterior’s crevices and the basket’s nooks and crannies take some effort to clean.

It turns out the best Keurig K-Cup brewer isn’t made by Keurig. That honor goes to the Cuisinart Premium Single-Serve Brewer SS-10, which receives a top convenience rating and offers great cup-size and temperature consistency. This machine also packs a ton of features, including an auto-shutoff function, a removable water reservoir, a height-adjustable drip tray, a built-in water filter, and programming.

One of the top-rated single-serve machines, the Nespresso Essenza Mini stands out with top scores on CR’s brew-time tests and for its ability to control the brew volume for different strengths. This compact model is great for the office or anywhere you need to accommodate a variety of tastes. The adjustable drip tray and auto-off function add to its low-maintenance profile. Like other Nespresso models, it requires Nespresso capsules, which the company recycles at no charge.

The Keurig K-Elite K90 Pod coffee maker is the best Keurig-branded pod brewer in our ratings. Its first-cup brew speed is a tad slow, but this Keurig makes up for it with great temperature and size consistency. It packs plenty of features, too, including programming, auto-shutoff, an iced-coffee brewing mode, a removable reservoir, and a height-adjustable drip tray.

This Ninja BL770 Mega Kitchen System ranks in the middle of CR’s ratings. It earns above-average scores for chopping onions for salsa or almonds for pies but gets only an average score for puréeing soups and scores below average for grating Parmesan cheese. It’s also a bit noisy. The 8-cup-capacity chopper has convenient touch-button controls and three speeds, and comes with accessories including a dough blade, a blender attachment, and a recipe book.
