Big Screen Bumblebees

While smartphone launch events get a lot of media attention, there are a bunch of companies that swear by larger screen devices, and innovate in the laptop space to create powerful, aesthetic devices. Lenovo has staked its space here with a full slate product this month.
The company recently launched a range of laptops in its ThinkPad and ThinkCenter PC series, in its quest to embark into the IoT space. Flowing from the fact that millennials occupy almost 40% of modern-day workplaces, Lenovo has shrunk the size of its screens by almost 30% besides incorporating smart security solutions like anti-snoop technology in them. For instance, the Lenovo ThinkPad T490 series leverages the Intel i7 8th generation platform, with an ultra-thin bezel design, a 500 nit display panel and Dolby Audio Premium. Alongside, the company has also beefed up its workstation range to include start-up friendly configurations.
Akin to Hindu female Gods, Lenovo also has an aggressive avatar in the form of its Legion series devices. Targeted at the working professional who also dabbles in serious gaming, the company recently organized an on-ground battle of PC gamers and leveraged the opportunity to launch two Legion devices -- the Y740 and the Y540. With a focus on efficient heat dissipation and prolonged battery performance, these 1 TB/ 16 GB gaming laptops in 15-17 inch screens, come with RGB backlit keys, Dolby-vision enabled operations for better and precise game-time viewing and vibrating sound systems for an immersive experience.
Lenovo is banking on the popular belief that the benchmark for a good computing device lies in its gaming performance. If a device can perform optimized gaming, it goes without saying that it will provide impeccable performance for other tasks like spreadsheets and design tools. From around Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,30,000, you can choose from basic laptops to savage gaming devices. Take your pick.
