Capital market investment fair underway in Ctg

With a view to spreading capital market and financial awareness among the investors, a three-day Capital Market and Investment Fair underway in Chittagong. The Chittagong Stock Exchange is organizing the fair titled '6th Capital Marketing and Investment Fair' at GEC Convention Center in the port city from February 1 to February 3. 

Different brokerage firms, merchant banks, asset management companies and listed companies are taking part in the Capital Market Investment Fair 2018. A total of 69 general stalls, eight mini pavilions and six pavilions will be setup at the fair.

Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam BSc inaugurated the fair as the chief guest while Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Dr M Khairul Hossain was present as the special guest in the inauguration of the fair.

National Cricketer Shakib Al Hasan also attended the inaugural ceremony as a guest. Minister Nurul Islam in his speech termed Chittagong as source of economic activities and stressed for branding it further and also called upon the entrepreneurs to develop industry with the capital from stock market instead of banks. Earlier on Monday, CSE's managing director M Shaifur Rahman Majumdar disclosed it at a press conference at CSE Bhaban. 

Shaifur informed that there would be three seminars and several training programs at the fair.  The press conference was attended, among others, by Adnan Abdur Raquib, manager of TREC Holders Affairs of CSE and Arif Mahmud, AGM of CSE.  The fair will remain open from 10:00am to 8:00pm every day.

The CSE arranged the first investment fair in 2005. Later, the port city bourse arranged the 2nd investment fair in 2007, 3rd investment fair in 2009, 4th investment fair in 2014 and 5th investment fair in 2015.
