China to allow ‘visa on arrival’ to Bangladeshi nationals

China is keen to ease its visa processing and allow ‘visa on arrival’ facility to Bangladeshi nationals including tourists and business people, visiting Chinese delegation said on Friday.
The Chinese offer of easing visa was discussed at a bilateral meeting between Chinese Minister and Party Committee Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security Zhao Kezhi and home minister Asaduzzaman Khan at the latter’s secretariat office. 
Bangladesh sought Chinese role in repatriating Rohingya people from Bangladesh to their homes in Myanmarm, said Asaduzzaman Khan after meeting with the Chinese delegation.
Zhao Kezhi, now on three-day official visit in Bangladesh, led a 24-member Chinese team at the bilateral meeting that lasted for two hours and was held ‘fruitfully in a friendly 
atmosphere,’ he added.
The home minister told reporters that Bangladesh and China signed three documents including ‘Plan of Action on Law Enforcement Training Cooperation’, cooperation document on establishment of joint working group and letter of exchange on police equipment.
He said that their discussion also covered issues related to Chinese cooperation in counterterrorism, cybercrimes, militancy, transnational crimes, narcotics, fire service and visa issuance.
Asaduzzaman Khan said there would be exchange of views and delegations between the two countries in addition to intelligence sharing between the two countries. 
Replying to a question about Rohingya repatriation, he said that they discussed the Rohingya repatriation issues with due emphasis and Bangladesh sought Chinese role in repatriating Rohingya people from Bangladesh to their homes in Myanmar.
He said that the Chinese team believed Bangladesh, a densely populated country, been a serious victim by sheltering over 10 lakh Rohingya people. 
‘There’ll be a tripartite meeting among Bangladesh Foreign Minister and his Chinese and Myanmar counterparts where they will discuss the issue further,’ he said.
Asaduzzaman also said that the Chinese delegation believed that the Rohingya problems would be solved very soon. 
He said the Chinese side appreciated Bangladesh government’s support in protecting Chinese investment and for providing safety to them.
The home minister said the Chinese side appreciated Bangladesh’s development led by prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s government and assured of continuing cooperation to Bangladesh.
