edotco Bangladesh comes closer to obtaining tower sharing licence
edotco Bangladesh is one step closer to obtaining a conditional tower sharing licence from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission.
In a statement, the integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company said it had recently completed the transfer of 20% stake held by Robi Axiata Ltd to become a wholly owned subsdiary of edotco Group.
This goes towards fulfilling the commissions's requirement that edotco Bangladesh cannot retain a mobile network operator as its shareholder.
Upon obtaining the tower sharing licence, edotco will be able to build and manage telecommunications towers for multiple mobile network operators in the country.
"We have been working closely with Robi and our local partners to ensure a smooth transition. We are confident we will be able to fulfill all the conditions within the set timeframe and are looking forward to receiving the complete license.
"edotco is committed to partnering the government and serving the telecommunications industry here," said Suresh Sidhu, CEO of edotco Group.
