Everything we (think we) know about the Samsung Galaxy S10

Samsung is expected to unveil its Galaxy S10 smartphones just weeks from now at an event on February 20, ahead of tech conference MWC, but as usual we already have a general grasp of the details thanks to months of leaks and rumours.

The trio of S10 devices appear to stick very close to the size and shape of previous phones, with most rumours pointing to OLED screens in the realm of 5.8-inches, 6.1-inches and 6.4-inches. However Samsung has teased that the phones will use a new "Infinity O" screen that takes up even more of the front of the device than before.

The clearest look at the new phones so far comes from serial leaker Evan Blass, who posted an image to Twitter showing the three devices inside clear plastic cases bearing the Speck logo. Assuming the images are accurate — and Blass does have a good track record — they back up many previous leaks and speculation about the Galaxy S10 devices.

The rear of the phones sport horizontally-aligned cameras; three on the S10 and S10+, two on the S10E. The likely less-expensive phone is also lacking the heart rate monitor seen on the two more premium devices. All three phones are without a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, lending credibility to the oldest S10 rumour: that the devices will sport sensors underneath the display on the front, just like we've seen from Huawei and OnePlus.

As expected the front of the devices do not feature a display cutout, or notch, as was common in 2018 phones. Instead there is a small round hole punched in the top corner housing the selfie camera and sensors, as seen for the first time very recently on Huawei's Honor View 20. On the S10+ there are two front-facing cameras, just like on Google's Pixel 3, for a total of five cameras on board.

The screens on the S10 and S10+ appear to be curved at the edges like previous Galaxy phones, while the S10E appears flat. Elsewhere there are the expected power, volume and Bixby keys, plus what looks like space for a 3.5mm headphone jack.

All these details are consistent with leaks and renders that have been doing the rounds for months, but there are also murkier rumours surrounding a potential fourth supercharged S10 model.

Earlier details from the Wall Street Journal (and visualised by OnLeaks) suggested four rear cameras for the S10+, and it remains unclear whether this is the case (and the image from Blass is old), or whether this is actually the mysterious fourth S10. Reports have also suggested a variant with a huge 6.7-inch screen and a ceramic back.
