Exclusive and Tasty Litchi in Rajshahi Markets

“Jyestha”; the month of favorite fruits also addressed as “Modhumash” is only a week away. Regarding the fact that it’s a week, away this year, juicy and high-quality litchi is already being sold in the markets of Rajshahi, which is an elite state of fruit harvest. As the quantity is still low, they are not being appeared in the markets of other states, such as Dhaka, Sylhet and many others.
Juicy fruits including jackfruit, blackberry, mangos, and many others are expected to be found in high quantity and also of high quality this year because the overall production is quite high this year. In different bazaars of Rajshahi such as Shaheb Bazaar, SHeroil Bus Terminal, and many others, these fruits are already being found. The amount of the fruits have a high price currently, as the litchis are being sold in taka 300-350 for 100 litchis.
According to the suppliers and sellers, the price is going to fall down very soon, when the quantity of production increase and as currently, the quantity is not that high yet, the price is being set high. Some farmers are also harvesting litchis, which are immature expecting to get a higher amount of money.
Dr.Alim Uddin, Fruit Research Station’s Principal Scientific Officer has stated that local varieties of litchi have started appearing in the markets but, the variations of Bombay litchis are still yet to come to the market. It might take around a few weeks for the various Bombay litchis to hit the market of Bangladesh.
Some other types of litchis such as China-3, Madrazi and many more are expected to appear in the upcoming weeks too. “Many people have become self-reliant by cultivating litchis in the past few years”, stated the additional director of DAE DevDulalDhali.
The fine production of litchi is a glorious sign for the people of Bangladesh who love fruits. On the other hand, it might also help Bangladesh to export the export quality litchis.
