Galaxy S10 Leak 'Confirms' Samsung's Nasty Surprise

We already know what the redesigned 10th-anniversary Galaxy S10 will look like, but now details have leaked about both the release date and Samsung’s pricing. Unfortunately, the good news of the former is more than outweighed by the bad news of the latter…

‘Great Secret Features’ and ‘Nasty Surprises’ are my regular columns investigating the best features / biggest problems hidden behind the headlines.

In a major exclusive, Gizmodo has first revealed Samsung will launch the Galaxy S10 on February 20 and it will go on sale as soon as March 8. This is a week earlier than the Galaxy S9, a phone which was already a month earlier than the Galaxy S8.

As positive as this news is for fans who cannot wait, Gizmodo has concerning news about Samsung’s pricing. The site reveals Samsung will charge up to £1,399 ($1,750) for the range. The full breakdown is a little more encouraging, but there are still price rises across the board.

At the bottom of the range is a new flat-screen budget Galaxy S10 (details) which will cost £669 ($845) with 128GB of storage. Above that, the standard Galaxy S10 (details) will have 128GB and 512GB storage options costing £799 ($1,009) and £999 ($1,260). The larger Galaxy S10 Plus will cost £899 ($1,135) for 128GB, £1,099 ($1,390) for 512GB and £1,399 ($1,750) for a new 1TB option.
