"We urge the federal government to intervene and ensure that no worker in virtually any industry should be laid-off/ retrenched/ fired over 25 March to 25 April 2020" the right group requested.

Furthermore, the wages of lots of workers have not been paid for the month of March.

It requested to make sure all workers in all sectors are paid their wages for the months of March and April.

"No deductions must be made, either in the name of lay-off wages or other, as there is an over-all holiday declared by the federal government," it added.

The group called to guarantee the payment of the Eid bonus by 15 May 2020 and ensure that immediate food relief reaches workers, who've been rendered jobless at this time.
