HSBC launches 2nd edition of business excellence awards

HSBC has launched the second edition of "HSBC Organization Excellence Awards" to discover and honour businesses and business owners from Bangladesh because of their contribution towards sustainable monetary growth.

This season the theme of the awards is "THE ENTIRE YEAR of Resilience".

"These awards try to acknowledge thriving businesses found in Bangladesh and permit them to hook up with high growth global possibilities -- something HSBC has been doing for 155 years all over the world," said Md Mahbub ur Rahman, CEO of HSBC Bangladesh.

"Through the HSBC Organization Excellence Awards, we highlight the achievements of the country's virtually all successful enterprises and business owners and recognise their relentless work to make Bangladesh's mark in the global arena," stated Kevin Green, country head for wholesale banking in HSBC Bangladesh.

"We happen to be proud to be playing our role in supporting those who are taking wonderful strides to build up the powerhouse of our economy."

The first one of the eight categories of this year's awards is for garment units with gross annual export turnover of $50 million and above

The next category is for supply chain and backward linkage industries with gross annual export turnover of $10 million and above while non-traditional and emerging sectors with turnover of $3 million and above will participate in the third group.

The fourth category is for best in import substitution reducing or substituting imports to a benefit of $10 million and above.

The fifth category is for the first choice in inbound investment and infrastructure foreign investment in the kind of capital, technology solution etc.

A sixth award has been included this year and it will get for excellence in sustainability.

Another category in addition has been added this season, which will be given to the organisation armed with best innovation and technology.

A special accomplishment award to individual(s)/ organisation will get beneath the eighth category, which includes made exemplary contribution to the country's socioeconomic expansion, excellence in innovation, job creation and helping the community.

The commerce ministry and the British high commission in Dhaka will be the programme partners of the awards.

Adjudication will be done by a jury table comprising customers from the HSBC senior operations group, the ministry and the great commission.

Winners will get selected based on aspects such while, gross annual contribution to the national exports and overall economy, diversity, responsibility, sustainable organization procedures, governance strengths, regulatory compliance etc.

The nomination forms and various other information on the programme are now available at HSBC's Bangladesh website and the nomination phase will remain open until January 28, 2021.
