JBCCI seeks Japanese supports to accelerate Bangladesh’s development
The Japan Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Saturday sought Japanese financial and technological assistance to accelerate Bangladesh’s development.
The chamber sought the support at its 9th Network Gathering held at the Lotus Hall Room at Uttara Club in the capital.
The Japan Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised the gathering while Kojima Lyric Garments Limited hosted the event.
Gazipur City Corporation mayor M Jahangir Alam and JBCCI president Daisuke Arai, vice-president Imrul Anwar Liton, adviser Akhtaruzzaman and honorary executive director AKM Moazzem Hossain were present on the occasion.
The Japan Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry secretary general Tareq Rafi Bhuiyan moderated the event.
Addressing the gathering, Jahangir Alam said Japan was one of the best friends of Bangladesh as it was providing all sorts of supports to develop the country.
‘The bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Japan will become stronger in future. We want to work with Japan in all sectors, including information and technology sectors. The financial and technological supports of Japan will accelerate the country’s economy,’ he added.
He urged the Japanese investors to invest across the country, including in Gazipur, saying there was an investment friendly environment in Bangladesh.
Imrul Anwar Liton expressed his hope that Bangladesh would move forward further with technical and financial supports of the Japanese government.
Moazzem Hossain said the JBCCI had been formed to enhance trade and investment relations between Bangladesh and Japan. ‘I hope the JBCCI will play more active roles to enhance the relationship,’ he added.
Members of the JBCCI and high officials of JETRO Dhaka office also attended the event.
