Malaysia imposes travel ban on Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal citizens

Malaysia will impose a good travel ban on residents of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal.

The maneuver followed a short-term ban on flights from and India to stop a fresh Covid-19 variant from entering Malaysia.

Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who declared this on Wednesday (May 5), however, didn't state the date when this ban will need effect.

"The travel restriction imposed on citizens of the countries involved all classes holding long-term social go to passes, organization travellers and for interpersonal visits.

"Exemptions are, however, directed at holders of diplomatic passports and officials as being stated found in the Vienna Convention about Diplomatic Relations 1961.

"This category will be looked at to enter Malaysia applying the prevailing standard operating procedures, " this individual said.

Malaysia had temporarily banned flights from and to India to give up a new Covid-19 variant from entering the united states from April 28.

Ships and Indian citizens with Malaysian function permits will also be denied access, he added.

Malaysia's National Protection Council (NSC), the company coordinating responses found in the fight Covid-19, has decided to the proposal by medical Ministry, with exemptions given to Malaysian citizens, who'll undergo the mandatory 14-day quarantine after entry.
