Male leads who reign supreme in Dhallywood

If there is one thing that is certain, it is the fact that life is ephemeral. The new will take the place of the old, turn old and then someday, will give their place to the new again; such is the rule of existence. Like everything else, this is applicable for the world of showbiz as well. In this article, we take a look at the busiest actors who currently reign supreme in the industry.

Talking about busy schedules, the name Shakib Khan would be the first on the list. He has been in the industry for the past 20 years. Many of whom who joined after him have either been forgotten or become ‘old’. Shakib Khan, however, still has a strong foothold. Maintaining the pace with new films every year, he is always in action. The ‘King’ is currently shooting for Bir and Moner Moto Manush Pailam Na, with several other films in the pipeline awaiting release.

Shortly after his debut in films, Arifin Shuvoo has already secured a place for himself by gaining popularity through his work. Though he began his career with modelling and acting in television, he later dedicated himself to films. His internationally acclaimed film Dhaka Attack, further boosted his career to new heights. The actor also worked in films in Kolkata. As of now, he is shooting for his new film Mission Extreme.

Zayed Khan is another popular name in the industry. Though he has a hectic schedule serving as the General Secretary of Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti, he still manages to continue acting. His last film was Protishodher Agun. Other films that are ready for release include Love in Malaysia, directed by Mantazur Rahman Akbar and Hridoy Chhowa Bhalobasha, directed by Mustafizur Rahman Babu.

Another actor who has been quite lucky since his debut to make a name for himself is Bappy Chowdhury. With frequent new films, he manages to keep himself busy year-round. The film Nayok played a pivotal role in his acting career. Bappy is currently busy shooting for Dhaka 2040 with renowned director Dipankar Dipon for the first time.

A relative new-comer in the industry, Siam Ahmed carved a space for himself in the hearts of the audience with his charm. His film Dohon took his career to new heights. The actor is busy shooting for his upcoming projects – Shaan and Bishwa Shundori. The latter is being filmed overseas.

Emon began his career with modelling and transitioned into acting on television and later films. With his focus on acting, he is a determined actor who keeps busy with films mostly. His latest film Password was released last Eid, and is still being screened in various theatres. He is working on a number of films at the moment, including Shahoshi Joddha.

Nirob, too, started off as a model. In fact, he has worked on many popular advertisements as well. He later ventured into films. He even co-starred with Shabnur, in the film Maa Amar Chokher Moni, directed by Mostafizur Rahman Manik. He also worked with Purnima in the film Raja Shurjo Kha, directed by Gazi Mahbub. His latest project, Abbas is being screened across the country, while three more are waiting for their release. He is also working in a film called Boshonto Bikele.

Actor Yash Rohan made his debut with Swapnajaal. He later acted in Mayaboti, which is awaiting release. Another rising actor is Roshan, who won the hearts of the audience in Bangladesh as well as India. Some of his films include, Dhat Teri Ki, Shundori Toma, Beporowa and Cockpit, among others. Other actors who are working diligently include the likes of Symon Sadik, Arzu and A K Azad.

Renowned actors Riaz and Ferdous along with Amin Khan and Amit Hasan, once had the busiest career in the Bangla film industry. Riaz is on a hiatus at the moment. Ferdous however, is still active in the field. He has a lot of upcoming new projects. Currently he is working on a film titled Save Life.
