New OnePlus 6T Details Confirm Stunning Hardware
There may have been a slight clash of schedules, but with less than a week to go until the launch of the OnePlus 6T, the Shenzhen-based manufacturer isn’t holding much back. Today saw the release of a sample pictures from the upcoming handset, and it promises an improved experience from one of the weaker areas of the flagship package.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau posted a cityscape on Shenzhen on his Weibo account. And while it has obviously been chosen with care, we can still read a lot into the picture and what it suggests about the capabilities of the 6T.
Alongside the caption of “bring your own filter” the image shows a skyline of skyscrapers under a darkening sky. There’s a significant amount of artificial lighting inside the buildings, a strong mix of shadows in the architecture, the rich colors of the low-lying sun, all under the watchful gaze of the Moon.
Presumably the picture was chosen to showcase the low light capability of the camera and the software processing used to ‘clean up’ the image coming in from the dual-lens camera. This is also backed by last week’s reports of a ’night mode’ in the OnePlus 6T by TrueTech:
in a recent conversation, an official OnePlus representative exclusively confirmed to TrueTech, a feature that the impending OnePlus 6T would house, and has never been a part of its ancestors – a night mode for cameras. The camera night mode, as we interpret from what the representative exclaimed, would bring convenience to capturing photos in low light or at night. The smartphone’s hardware in accordance with the software (the camera app) would enable users to capture photos with ample clarity and sharpness, with a good dark-to-light contrast, and negligible noise.
