OTT streaming wars can further intensify in 2021: Study

Some 70 %70 % of audiences prefer to consume content on their cell phones, accompanied by TVs (55%) and personal computers (53%), found a report conducted by Brightcove Inc., a cloud services service provider for video recording, in collaboration with Milieu, a consumer exploration and data analytics firm.

Over 3,000 people, of 16 years and above, from seven countries including India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan were portion of the analysis carried out to get insights into buyer behaviour, to comprehend viewers' preferences, and must deliver the solutions and content customers want, where they need and when they need.

As per Brightcove, the analysis titled ‘The Potential of OTT found in South Asia’ may be the first such survey of the market that investigates the streaming patterns and preferences of buyers. This article seeks to dive into customer preferences towards OTT (over-the-top) companies. From subscriptions to payments to OTT advertising to user experiences, this statement uncovers insights to help media businesses, broadcasters, OTT streaming services, and articles owners in charting their potential in OTT.

"THE ENTIRE YEAR 2020 saw the streaming wars intensifying and in 2021 we will have more of the same. This report presents insights on building an OTT strategy for the near future,'' said Brightcove statement.

Some 60 percent60 % of respondents felt public media was very critical for them plus they used various sociable media channels to find new content and systems.  For 64 % of visitors, a monthly membership was the most recommended consuming option while 55 % of viewers have a number of free online video sharing services as their go-to Television set viewing platforms.  Some 48 % of respondents said these were looking for considerably more content options whereas 35 % of these were pleased to access local content, in line with the study.
