Shawndreka Davis has always had a creative talent and a mind for business. Currently, she is a licensed real estate agent, hairstylist and consultant and distributor for Bye Bye Belly, a fairly new weight loss product.

She also does interior design and event planning and is now the owner of a storefront shop in New Bern.

Davis and her husband Edmund Davis Jr. made headlines marrying on April 24, 2020 amidst the COVID pandemic.

Since her wedding, Davis went back to school and obtained her real estate license. She works as an agent for Keller-Williams Realty in New Bern.

She is now also the owner of Glamourzon Studio & Events located at 1918 Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd.

The new business will consist of a consignment shop where she will sell owner's goods and they will receive a percentage of the sale. She accepts new and gently used clothing, shoes, accessories and more.

Davis also has a salon room where she performs her magic on her client's hair giving them the latest styles and trends. She also provides Bye Bye Belly consultations and sells the popular weight loss drink.

"I am slowly trying to retire from the hairstyling business but I would like to pour my gift into others and I wanted to start with the youth". Davis said. "Hairstylists can be expensive and many parents cannot afford it especially with things how they are today because of COVID."

Davis says she plans to offer workshops to youth ages 5 through 19 where she will teach the basics such as hair braiding and styles and techniques and nail care. Each attendee will be provided with their own equipment and products to utilize during the workshops. Upon completion, students will hold a hair show for parents to see what they have learned.

The building will also be available for event rentals such as weddings, showers, private parties, etc. Davis can provide event planning as well as decorations.

Lastly, the studio houses a bakeshop. Bri's Sweet Treats, owned by Briana Boyd, will be on-site daily with freshly baked cakes, cupcakes, cookies, cheesecakes and other goodies.

"I really wasn't looking for a building this big," said Davis. "It took me a minute to figure out what I was going to do with all this space."

She has figured it out and continues to come up with ideas to make her business a vital part of the community.
