Research reveals that Pirated Streaming Applications Steal User Data

Jailbroken applications had always been a huge problem for society. A recent investigation of Digital Citizen has found out that, piracy applications on devices, which can be jailbroken havea high chance of being affected with malware and on the other hand, has the threat of usernames and password theft. 

Many people make the mistake of logging in on different unauthorized online sites to watch online movies and series. The watchers do that in order to reduce the cost of getting signed to an authorized streaming device or buying a streaming device and also to stay updated with the latest episodes of different popular shows and series. 

After the research of Digital Citizen, it can be said that the pirated applications can be installed in television Sticks and Apple TV and they steal passwords and usernames of their users and on the other hand, affect the devices with malware and viruses. It is a bad practice as it promotes piracy of movies and TV Shows. 

The applications and devices, which affect the operating system and also promotes piracy are linked to authentic services like Netflix and many others. Digital Citizen also found out that the materials posted on these illegal sites are illegally stolen from Netflix. 

A lot of advertisements popup in the pirated applications, which is their main source of earning.  It is traumatizing that right now there are more than 10 million users of these applications, which promote piracy in North America.
