Russia-Bangladesh turnover rises to $1.645 bln in 2017

The turnover between Russia and Bangladesh increased by 14% in 2017 compared with 2016 to $1.645 bln, head of Russia’s Federal Agency for Fisheries Ilya Shestakov said at the meeting of the intergovernmental commission between the two countries on trade-economic and science-technical cooperation on Wednesday, adding that this year it is expected to reach $2 bln.

"In 2017, (trade) gained another 14% to $1.645 bln, hitting historic highs. In 2018, the positive dynamics of trade turnover has maintained as Russian supplies of agriculture products to Bangladesh are going up, and we expect bilateral trade to come ever closer to $2 bln by the yearend," he said, adding that the Russian supplies of mineral fertilizers and textiles to the country are also growing.
