Shippers’ Council of Bangladesh seeks suspension in tolls on export, import

The Shippers’ Council of Bangladesh has demanded that assortment of all sorts of tolls on transporting export and imports goods crisis ought to be stopped during the coronavirus outbreak.

In addition, it demanded that the demurrage charge of ports and airports along with ICD/ Off doc and ICT ought to be waived.

Council chairman Md Rezaul Karim came up with the proposals in a good affirmation issued by SCB.

Karim also thanked prime minister Sheikh Hasina for announcing a complete financial bundle of Tk 72,750 crore to save lots of the firms and livelihoods damaged by Covid-19 and Tk 5000 crore to increase wage support to employees and workers in the export-oriented sectors.

He also suggested that the incentive support should be paid on a turnover basis.
