The universities around the world should play a crucial role to support the students for facing challenges to get careers after and during coronavirus pandemic periods, said international and localized experts, scholars and researchers.

The Centre for Genocide Research, Dhaka University and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, Bangladesh jointly organised the two-evening E-Assembly on June 17-18, titled COVID-19 Pandemic and ADVANCED SCHOOLING: Challenges and Beyond.
Professor Imran Rahman, former vice-chancellor of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, said that found in the pandemic some sectors enjoy it was still offering jobs for young people.
He said that the learners must be better ready to learn online and independently.
‘Our task is not only to complete the curriculum and handover the certificates,’ he said adding that the teachers should support the students even from then on to help them prepare for job markets.
Professor Ashok Swain, section of peace and conflict research and director of Study School of International Water Cooperation of Uppsala University, said that many students lost their internship and full-time jobs for the pandemic.
He said that the students ought to be motivated and kept socially engaged in the prevailing situation.
IBA Professor Syed Munir Khasru of Dhaka University, as well chairman of Institute for Insurance plan, Advocacy and Governance, said that if the outbreak last half a year, Bangladesh would lose almost 9,00,000 jobs.
He recommended that the federal government and the business associations could facilitate alliance around large and smaller businesses and safeguarding and recreating jobs.
Professor Sohail Inayatullah, UNESCO chair found in future studies, professor Liyan Zhang, director Centre for Invention and Entrepreneurship of Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, and professor Syed Manzoorul Islam, division of English of Dhaka University, also delivered speeches on the occasion.
On the initially day professionals, scholars and researchers said that the universities across the world should share knowledge and encounters to overcome the problems in advanced schooling in the prevailing pandemic.
The E-Assembly was jointly moderated by Dhaka University’s international relations section professor Imtiaz Ahmed and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung resident representative Tina Marie Blohm.
