The New Chairman of AB Bank

A recent press statement has confirmed that Muhammad A (Rumee) Ali has been chosen as the new chairman of AB Bank of Bangladesh from. It was declared on 19th April concluding the statement with making him the chairman from the very next day.

Muhammad Rumee Ali had finished his post-graduation from Dhaka University in Economics and began his career under ANZ Grindlays bank in the year 1975. Just after the ANZ Grindlays had become an acquisition of Standard Chartered Group two decades back, he was appointed as the first CEO of both banks combined. Later on, in the fall of 2002, he started working as a deputy governor at Bangladesh Bank. 

 He has many other notable experiences such as managing director of BRAC’s Investments and Enterprise. On the other hand, he is the founder of bKash limited and also the chairman of BRAC Bank Limited.

Serving the boards of Alliance for Bangladesh Workers Safety (USA) was another of his achievements. He was one of the fellow members of the Banker’s Institute. It is one of his experiences from two decades back. It is an honor for AB Bank to hire him as the CEO.
