A two-day international conference on business and management aimed at bringing scholars and professionals from diverse disciplines under a single platform, began yesterday in Dhaka.
American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) organized the event titled ‘AIUB International Conference on Business Management’ at the university auditorium.
Inaugurating the event, Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC), Bangladesh Abdul Mannan said that the nature of business has been changing dramatically, adding that businesses must therefore need to adjust with changes and take the benefit of those.
“We need to understand the nature of market and demand of the market to make our businesses’ successful,” the UGC chairman added.
AIUB vice-chancellor Carmen Z Lamagna said that success in business required learning, practical knowledge, and the ability to adapt new situations.
Speaking at the event, Dhaka Stock Exchange Managing Director KAM Majedur Rahman said that the prime bourse had taken several initiatives to introduce new products in the country’s capital market.
The participation of youths in the market would be beneficial for the development of the country, he added.
Among others, Sayed Ferhat Anwar, director of Institute of Business Administration at Dhaka University, was also present at the event.
