Primary minister Sheikh Hasina in Mon instructed authorities concerned to ensure the 14-day time mandatory institutional quarantine for all passengers going from the United Kingdom to any airports in arrival in Bangladesh in the wake of the emergence of a new strain of coronavirus on the UK.
She gave the instruction while presiding over the weekly cabinet meeting nearly from her official residence at Ganabhaban. Her cabinet participants and secretaries of ministries worried attended the assembly from the secretariat.
‘Fourteen-day institutional quarantine will now be produced mandatory for all passengers from London to any kind of airport on Bangladesh. The primary minister has granted the instruction at the cabinet meeting for required measures to the result,’ cabinet secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam advised a press briefing at the secretariat.
Logical time will be specified to enforce the rules so that no person travelling from the UK was in big trouble, he added.
Anwarul said that the passengers will have to bear the expenses while the authorities would lease private hotels close to the airports found in Dhaka, Sylhet and Chattogram besides the government conveniences to be utilized for quarantine on arrival to support the increasing quantity of air passengers.
‘An official notification would be issued next a meeting with the agencies concerned like the directorate basic of health solutions and the civil aviation authority later at night,’ the cabinet secretary said.
Any passenger from the UK must be in the 14-day mandatory institutional quarantine despite having the COVID-19 detrimental certificate issued 1 day before travel, he said, adding that those people who have the document are being delivered to home quarantine.
