The United Nations Business office for Disaster Risk Lowering (UNDRR), with the support of the Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC), developed a planning toolkit for Tiny and Channel Enterprises (SMEs) to regenerate their business procedure to the brand new environment.
Bangladesh is currently witnessing significant economic shocks due to novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Small and Channel Enterprises (SMEs) will be the virtually all vulnerable group in this significant situation as a result of their low shock-absorbing capacity. To regenerate their businesses, SMEs need to redesign their organization operations to adopt to the new environment, said a news release.
With the help of the Business Initiative Leading Development (BUILD), this toolkit has been adapted for Bangladesh.
The toolkit includes: A planning tool organized around ‘10 tips’ to create businesses resilient, a short guide for impacted businesses with an ‘additional 5 tips,’ and an awareness-raising brochure summarizing the ’10 tips’ and the ‘5 additional tips’.
This toolkit will support SMEs to safeguard their employees and their work place.
Furthermore, this toolkit demonstrates the procedure of how an SME may continue its functions during this crisis using their existing resources and help protect SMEs from even more disruptions.
Furthermore, the toolkit includes advice for businesses which are already affected by COVID-19.
The toolkit is available at the next link: http://www.undrr.org/bcp-ap
For the capability of Bangladeshi SMEs, a Bangla version of the toolkit is also available.
The BUILD network is actively supporting the SMEs in Bangladesh. It is also collaborating with the UNDRR the ARISE Network - the Exclusive Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies with the objective to launch a national network in Bangladesh.
