Women SME expo kicks off

The month-long 12th International Women SME Expo 2018 began at Railway Pologround field in Chattogram on Sunday.
Chattogram Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised the fair with the help of Export Promotion Bureau, Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SME Foundation and Jute Diversification Promotion Centre.
Intraco Group, BRAC Bank Tara, Bashundhara Group, Well Food and Well Park were the sponsors of the fair. 
Dainik Azadi and Cvoice.com were media partners while Surgiscope Hospital Limited was the health care partner and Shoppers World was E-commerce partner of this expo.
Women entrepreneurs from Iran, Indonesia, Thailand, Pakistan, India and China were exhibiting their products in the fair 
with 300 stalls and 10 pavilions.
Prime minister’s international affairs adviser Gowher Rizvi inaugurated the fair. During the inauguration programme, he urged women entrepreneurs to read the election manifesto of Awami League and vote for the party to make a better and business friendly Bangladesh.
CWCCI president Monowara Hakim Ali at the programme thanked the government for various initiatives to promote the country’s women entrepreneurs. 
Member of parliament Sabiha Nahar Musa, Asian University for Women vice-chancellor Nirmala Rao, Lion Kamrun Malek, United Arab Emirates ambassador Saed Mohammad Al Muhairi, Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman Mahbubul Alam, among others, spoke at the ceremony.
At the inauguration ceremony, awards were given among the successful women entrepreneurs. The award winners were Fatema Begum, Nasrin Sarwar, Nur Nahar Begum and Sajeda Begum.
