The crowd of reverting people was even lesser on the fifth as well as the last day of advance train ticket sale for Eid-Ul-Azha. As a result approximately more than 2500 tickets of inter-city trains have been unsold yesterday.

Railway source has stated that, yesterday advance ticket of 11th August has been sold. The Chittagong station was quiet due to the less demand.

According to Chittagong station source, yesterday 4442 tickets have been sold from 7018 tickets of inter-city train. The first two uninterrupted inter-city train Shubarna and Shonar Bangla Express has sold the least amount of tickets. Dhaka heading Shubarna express has sold 156 tickets against 899 seats and Shonar Bangla has sold 39 tickets against 582 seats yesterday. Tickets of these two trains are left in the counters.

Last day Mymansing headin Bijay express has sold the maximum tickets. The train has sold 671 tickets in three hours. Dhaka heading Mohanogor express was next in demand. It sold 638 tickets against 709 seats yesterday.

Md. Ansar Ali, the divisional commercial manager of railway said describing the reason behind the reason of low ticket sale that the Dhaka-Chittagong highway has been developed for transportation before Eid.  The passengers can choose the roadway. Beside this Dhaka remains quite vacant during Eid. So the number of Dhaka headed passenger is even lower on the day before Eid.

Ansar Ali said that abundant amount of tickets for Dhaka headed Shubarna and Shonar Bangla express are still in the counters. Still 9 days are left. All the tickets can be sold before 11th August.

Meanwhile the rain damaged Dhaka-Chittagong highway has been repaired.

The second Meghna, Gomati and Kachpur bridges have also been started. So it can take 4–5 hours for a passenger to travel Dhaka. Thus the dependency upon train is now decreased.
