Apple today released a fresh 3E751 firmware update for the second-generation AirPods and the AirPods Pro, updating them from the last 3A283 firmware that premiered back in September.

Apple will not offer information on what's contained in refreshed firmware, so we don't really know what improvements or bug fixes the brand new firmware brings.

There is no standard way to upgrade the ‌AirPods‌‌ software, but firmware is normally installed over-the-air as the ‌‌AirPods‌‌ are linked to an iOS device. Putting the ‌‌‌‌‌AirPods‌‌‌‌‌ in the event, connecting the ‌‌‌‌‌AirPods‌‌‌‌‌ to a power source, and pairing the ‌‌‌‌‌AirPods‌‌‌‌‌ to an iPhone or an iPad should force the update after a brief period of time.

You can examine your ‌‌‌AirPods‌‌ or ‌‌AirPods Pro‌‌‌ firmware by following these steps:

Connect your ‌‌AirPods‌‌ or ‌‌AirPods Pro‌‌ to your iOS device.
Open the Settings app.
Tap General.
Tap About.
Tap ‌‌‌‌‌AirPods‌‌‌‌‌.
Consider the number next to "Firmware Version."
If we find notable changes following the firmware updates are installed, we'll share details, however the software likely includes performance improvements and bug fixes.
