Bangladesh elected International Seabed Authority council member

Membership to facilitate the country to tap the entire potentials of it is ocean resources
Bangladesh has been elected member of the Council of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) for a four-time term from January 01, 2021, to December 31, 2024.
Headquartered in Kingston of Jamaica, the ISA is definitely mandated beneath the UN Convention in regulations of the Sea to arrange, regulate, and control every mineral-related actions in the intercontinental seabed area designed for the benefit for mankind all together. Its council is composed of 37 members.
Being elected person in the council, Bangladesh are certain to get the possibility to better defend its desire in the business in future, in line with the Bangladesh Permanent Objective in the US in New York on Friday.
Bangladesh is a region with an enormous population where land-based resources is scarce. Even the sources of the seas will be yet to be completely exploited.
Following the settlement of Bangladesh's maritime boundaries with neighbouring Myanmar and India, the united states is prioritizing on unleashing the entire potentials of its ocean means and has produced the Blue Economy the new frontier.
To fully realize the potentials of the Blue Market for the socio-economic production, Bangladesh would require access to equitable posting of marine resources, specifically in areas beyond national jurisdiction and in ISA-controlled areas. And, that makes the task of ISA very important to Bangladesh.
It is worth mentioning that Bangladesh is also the current president of the council of the International Seabed Authority.
