Bangladesh- Embassy of Oman celebrates 49th National Day in Dhaka

Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman Dhaka celebrated the country's 49th National Day at a reception on November 25 held at Le Meridien Dhaka.
Ta'eeb Salim Al Alawi, Head of Mission, Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman Dhaka was present on the occasion while Hasan Mahmud, Minister of Information attended the event as the Chief Guest.
"The achievement made in Oman has been the product of cooperation and partnership of the loyal Omanis in all field of action which has led the country to reach stability, security and prosperity over the past 49 years despite challenges," said Alawi.
He further mentioned that over the years the bilateral relations between Oman and Bangladesh have surpassed expectations. Earlier, both countries had similar stance and voice in almost all regional and international issues. Side by side both countries prospered and adapted international know-hows and practices.
"Oman is hosting nearly 2 million expatriates from all over the world currently. Of which 660,000 are from Bangladesh. These expatriates are our development partner. They are playing an important role in the development of the national economies of both Oman and Bangladesh," he added.
Addressing further collaboration, he said, "Both the governments are working together to find new markets harbouring these workers. To facilitate easy movement of these workers, the governments are to form new initiatives."
At present, 42 flights are being operated in a weekly basis between the two countries, informed the Head of the Mission.
Speaking about the investment potential of Bangladesh, he mentioned that the country is now the fastest growing economy in the world having 8 per cent growth in GDP. Hence, Alawi urged both countries to invest in each other and utilise the full potential.
