Bangladesh has capacity to export food: Qamrul
Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam yesterday said Bangladesh has no shortage of food now as it has already achieved the capacity of exporting foods.
"Bangladesh is now running on the highway of development. The country is witnessing development in all the sectors. People's income has gone up, as well as their average life expectancy," he said.
The minister said these while addressing a teachers' conference on Talepur Ideal High School premises in Keraniganj.
Presided over by Keraniganj Upazila Nirbahi officer (UNO) Shahe Elid Mainul Amin, the conference was also addressed by former lawmaker and valiant Freedom Fighter Alhaj Mostafa Mohsin Montu district and sessions judge Md Abdul Hannan, upazila secondary education officer Nilufar Jahan and upazila primary education officer Mazeda Sultana, among others.
Urging locals to vote for Awami League again, the minister said, "The country is marching forward in every sector and to keep up the development process, we need to bring Awami League in power again."
