Caravan tourism to come to Himachal Pradesh soon
As caravan tourism takes off in Himachal Pradesh, the Himachal Pradesh government is now looking to focus on it. Caravan tourism has become popular among travellers, especially since the pandemic, as it allows one to remain in a bubble without mingling with too many people.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur announced during his budget speech that the government will promote and develop this tourism model, and develop circuits, especially at places that do not have adequate hotel accommodation. Other Indian states such as Kerala, Goa, and Karnataka have already taken steps to promote caravan tourism.
Caravan tourism is aimed to attract more domestic and foreign touristsThe Chief Minister further said that sites with traditional Kathkuni style architecture will be linked to other tourist circuits, and Kangra’s art gallery. Himachal’s historic forts will also be developed as tourist attractions., along with various mountain biking tracks.The state government will also spend INR 50 crore under the Nai Rahen Nai Manzilen scheme, wherein water sports in Larji and Tattapani, paragliding in Bir Billing and Chanshal, and Shiv Dham in Mandi shall be included. Moreover, the government is aiming to develop the conservation of heritage buildings, eco-tourism, water sports wellness centres, Buddhist circuits, and more in two phases.
Himachal Pradesh is one of the foremost tourism destinations in the country with a host of amazing destinations and things to do. First and foremost, the Hiamalayan state is known for its amazing trekking routes, and experiences. But there are ample opportunities and scopes for tourism here in this beautiful destination.
