Just before six years, the shoal had emerged in the place of Meghna River’s western bank. According to the boatmen of Railway River Ghat, the place has great potential to attract tourists from all around the world. It can be considered as the mini Cox’s Bazar of Bangladesh.
Not before long, correspondent of UNB figured out that the shoal is just 5 kilometers away from the river bank and the size of it is growing as time is passing by. On the other hand, a few neighbor shoals are emerging together to make it bigger. From the Railway Station Ghat, it barely takes 15 minutes to reach Chadpur’s, Balu Char.
Flocks of tourists gather there every day to embrace the beauty of the place. During vacation time, the number of tourists rise even more. Not only the local people of Chadpur visit the place but people from far come too. Tourists from Komilla, Ramganj, Faridganj, and many others had been spotted enjoying the beauty of the place and also the mesmerizing weather near the sea.
The place is turning out to become an attractive place for the youths of the place. However, although the shoal is magnificently beautiful, it still lacks mandatory facilities and there is safety issues, which is holding back from attracting even more tourists.
Different problems like food and refreshment have been stated by the tourists, they must be taken care of. For the view of the sea, seats, and umbrellas are seen over there, but there is not an adequate amount to cover all the tourist. They cost around 50 taka for an hour. “The place is beautiful without a doubt but it lacks facilities tourists need”, a tourist from Gazipur.
On the other hand, there are safety issues on the road, which endangers the journey of the tourists. According to Md. Shawkat Osman, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Installation of tube-wells are going to take place there, which is a great sign.
