DSE shareholders call for new products, tech excellence
Shareholders of Dhaka Stock Exchange have demanded that the bourse introduce new products for the interest of the country’s capital market.
They also sought 10 per cent dividend next year.
The shareholders made the requests at the DSE’s 57th annual general meeting held at the DSE’s Nikunja Tower in Dhaka on Thursday.
The shareholders at the AGM said that the DSE should introduce new products including SME board and alternative trading board soon and look for other options in line with the stock exchanges in other countries.
They also urged to enhance technological competence at the market.
They also requested DSE to take necessary steps to shift offices of the bourse and members to the Nikunja Tower as soon as possible.
DSE managing direct KAM Majedur Rahman said that the management would try their best to fulfil all the demands made by the members soon.
DSE chairman Abul Hashem said that the management was trying to bring technological excellence and various products, and to build confidence and awareness among investors.
At the AGM, the audited financial reports of the bourse for the year ended on June 30, 2017 were approved.
The five per cent dividend proposed by the DSE board for the shareholders for FY18 was also approved.
