Gather round for countless culture

Association of Fashion Designers of Bangladesh (AFDB) and SME Foundation proudly presents Heritage Handloom Festival – 2018, to be held for the first time in Bangladesh from 4 to 6 October. The three-day event is aimed at preserving and promoting traditional handloom by featuring the creative work of top designers and exclusive products of weavers and artisans from remote areas of Bangladesh. The exhibition will be inaugurated by the Finance Minister, A M A Muhith and Minister for Cultural Affairs, Asaduzzaman Noor. In a seamless blend of artistic creativity from diverse cultures and traditions, the exhibition will have over 30 stalls displaying unique products made from seven heritage products: Jamdani, Nakshi Kantha, Mirpur Benarasi, Tangail Taant, Sirajganj Taant (Lungi, Gamcha, Saris), Rangamati Handloom and Monipuri Handloom. Weavers from these seven sectors have been trained and mentored jointly by AFDB, SMEF and prominent artist Kanak Chapa Chakma.
