General public health alert issued above Wegmans natural ground turkey product

The United States Department of Agriculture's Meals Safety and Inspection Services has issued a public health alert for about 211,000 pounds of raw ground turkey products, some of which were sold with Wegmans branding.

In line with the FSIS, the merchandise may have brought on Salmonella Hadar disease. The alert was issued on April 10.

They said a recall had not been requested because "it really is believed that the merchandise are no more available" for customers to buy. FSIS said it really is concerned that the merchandise may be in people's freezers.

FSIS said people who've the product in their freezer should toss it out or come back it to the shop they got it at.

The product is produced by Plainville Makes, LLC, a Pennsylvania company.

The products were produced from Dec. 18 to 29, 2020. The next products are subject to the alert.

FSIS said the products bear establishment amount EST. P-244 inside the USDA mark of inspection and had been sold to retail spots nationwide
