Grameenphone’s Call Rate is expected to have an Increase

Being the leading telecom company of Bangladesh, Grameenphone has always provided great service. However, a recent report states that the call rate of Grameenphone is expected to go high because of their significant market power. The news was unveiled in the posts of Telecommunication and Information Technology Ministry of Bangladesh.

The officials had concerned to hold a meeting in the 19th. SajeebWazed Joy, the Prime Minister’s ICT Advisor had attended the meeting, which was held by Post, The Telecommunication Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar.

The meeting concluded by drawing the decision about the lowest call rate of Grameenphone as it is going to increase slightly as part of restrictions, which was started by the operator of SMP, the regulation that imposes a restriction on an operator during crossing the stated limit of Bangladesh.

The issue of Grameenphone had been analyzed in the meeting, which took place and decisions for redemption have been taken, according to Mustafa Jabbar, the Minister of Telecommunication and Technology.

The minister said, “However, I will not disclose anything about it until documents in this regard are signed”. The appearance of the development took place way after Grameenphone. In BTRC’s letter, it was written that audit demanded an amount of 12579,95Crore Bangladeshi Taka as “Unfounded and without any legal basis” on 23rd April.

BTRC had also issued a demand of Bangladeshi Taka 8494.01 Crore against Grameenphone on 2nd April of the current year and Bangladeshi Taka 4085.94 crore to the NRB, The Notice Board of Revenue within 10 days.
