Jammu to start helicopter services to connect remote areas

Soon, your visit to Jammu will turn out to be an exciting one. There are still places in the Valley that are still left unexplored due to their remote location and inaccessibility. However, things are going to change soon! As per the latest news reports, people of remote areas of Jammu will soon be provided with helicopter services to reach their remote homes during winter.
If reports are to go by, the administration has decided to start helicopter service for Chenab valley and Pir Panjal region of Jammu province to facilitate people to reach their remote homes during winter. This will not only be beneficial to locals here but will also offer an opportunity to travellers to travel to remote areas.
The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Provincial Commissioner of Jammu Romesh Kumar, in which Deputy Commissioners of Kishtwar, Ramban, Doda, Rajouri and Poonch districts, tourism, civil aviation authorities, Global Vectra Helicopter Private Limited, CISF officials also participated.
As regarding the fares, reportedly, the fare from Jammu to Rajouri will be INR 2,000, Jammu to Poonch will be INR 4,000, Jammu to Doda will cost INR 2,500, Jammu to Kishtwar will be INR 4,000, Kishtwar to Nawapachi will cost around INR 1,500, and more.
For this, the Provincial Commissioner has asked respective Deputy Commissioners to appoint Nodal Officers and conduct a joint inspection with the technical team of Global Vectra Helicopter to ensure the readiness of the designated helipads in their respective districts.
The Provincial Commissioner has also directed Global Vectra Helicopter to explore the option of online ticket booking for the convenience of people. Reports have it that the Joint Director of Tourism has been appointed as the nodal officer to coordinate with Global Vectra Helicopter for hassle-free services.
