More Japanese companies keen to invest in Bangladesh
Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Hiroyasu Izumi yesterday said the Japanese investors are keen to invest in Bangladesh considering the lucrative offer and ideal atmosphere for foreign investment, reports BSS. “The Japanese investors expressed more interest to invest in Bangladesh at recently ended the third round of Public-Private Economic Dialogue between Bangladesh and Japan,” he said while visiting in the Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CEPZ).
The envoy hopes Japanese investment in the Export Processing Zones (EPZs) would increase after the successful dialogue, said a press release. “More and more Japanese companies will come to invest in this country,” he added. General Manager of CEPZ Khorshid Alam presented a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the overall scenario of EPZ as well as Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA).
Mentioning Bangladesh EPZs as the ‘Bonanza for Investors’, he said, investors from 38 countries have set up industries in the EPZs and invested US $4.42 billion.
