Shakil Rizvi new president of DSE brokers’ assoc

Sharif, who has been working with the stock market since 1984, is the MD of Shahidullah Securities Ltd, while Richard D’ Rozariois holds the same post at Global Securities Ltd

 
Dhaka Stock Exchange Brokers’ Association (DBA), a platform of trading right entitlement certificate (TREC) holders of the premier bourse, has elected Shakil Rizvi its president for the next two years. 

Sharif Anwar Hossain and Richard D’ Rozario have been picked as senior vice-chairman and vice-president, respectively, said a press release issued on Monday.

The DBA held the election at its fourth annual general meeting at  Dhaka club on Sunday, to get a new leadership for the stockbrokers’ organisation for the next tenure.

Addressing the meeting, the trio voiced their strong will to work together with all DSE members for the betterment of the capital market of the country.

The managing director (MD) of Shakil Rizvi Stock Ltd and former president-director of DSE, Shakil replaced  Mostaque Ahmed Sadeque as the DBA chief. Shakil has been working in the capital market since 1987. 

Sharif, who has been working with the stock market since 1984, is the MD of Shahidullah Securities Ltd, while Richard D’ Rozariois holds the same post at Global Securities Ltd.

CEO of Delta Capital Ltd Zeyad Rahman, MD of IDLC Securities Ltd Md Saifuddin, Chairman and MD of Remons Investment and Securities Ltd Md Mofizuddin, MD of K-Securities and Consultants Ltd Dil Afroz Kamal, and MD of Aries Securities Masudul Haque, were also elected new directors of the association.

The other office bearers include MD of Expo Traders Ltd Dr Osman Goni Chowdhury, MD of Eminent Securities Ltd Umar Haider Khan, MD of Rasti Securities Consultant Ltd Syed Redwanul Islam, CEO of Dhaka Bank Securities  Mohammed Ali, MD of Adil Securities Ltd Dastagir Md Adil, CEO of Unicap Securities Ltd Wali Ul Islam, and MD of Shyamol Equity Management Ltd Md Sajedul Islam.

DBA has been working since 2014, following the demutualisation of the DSE n November 21, 2013. The Dhaka bourse was formally incorporated on August 16, 2015 after registering with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies And Firms.
