SpiceJet to launch 8 innovative flights between India-Bangladesh under weather bubble pact

No-frills carrier SpiceJet on Monday declared the launch of eight new flights between India and Bangladesh beneath the air bubble contract between the two countries, starting November 5. The Gurugram-headquartered airline will operate four times weekly non-stop air travel services between Kolkata and Chittagong, besides connecting Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai with Dhaka, a release said.
Chittagong, the port city, will be the 11th international vacation spot of SpiceJet, it explained, adding that all the brand new services will come to be operated from November 5. On October 17, Minister of Status for Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri had released, through a tweet, that both South Asian nations possessed sealed a weather bubble pact under that your carriers of India and Bangladesh will operate 28 flights (weekly) each between your two countries.
The air bubble arrangement between two countries helps airlines to use international flights, with selected restrictions, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. “SpiceJet is usually delighted to include Chittagong as its 11th international destination and announce the start of our fresh flights linking Dhaka with Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata,” SpiceJet Chief Professional Officer Shilpa Bhatia said.
“We've always witnessed very good demand in our flights to Bangladesh and we happen to be confident our new flights provide smooth connectivity for the passengers traveling on the subject of these routes,” she added. SpiceJet will deploy a mix of its Boeing 737 and Bombardier Q400 aircraft on each one of these routes, the airline explained in the release.
Chittagong is Bangladesh’s second-largest city, besides getting one of the country’s major financial hubs. Getting a crucial center in Bangladesh for international trade, the metropolis is an integral destination for business travelers, SpiceJet said.
