Travel Without Tickets: New program set up at three teach stations to avoid it

Bangladesh Railway has generated access control devices at three significant stations so that nobody can travel in trains without tickets.

The three stations are Airport Station in Dhaka, Joydebpur station in Gazipur and Narsingdi station. The authorities also have raised Airport Station's Platform-1 to ease usage of the trains.

Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan inaugurated the establishments at a programme at Airport Station found in the capital yesterday.

Meanwhile, BR opened the three stations to the general public from yesterday morning after a gap of more than five months. Most trains will pick up and drop passengers at those stations from nowadays.

BR resumed operation of passenger train offerings on, may 31, more than 8 weeks after it suspended the operations to contain pass on of Covid-19 in the united states.
 
However, since resumption of solutions, trains had not halted at those stations till yesterday just as the authorities were installing the access control program to prevent persons from travelling without tickets.

BR is steadily increasing trains in its fleet in a good bid to normalise solutions. A total of 218 trains should come into procedure by September 16. The rest of the 144 mail and localized trains will resume procedure gradually.

The authorities have started selling all tickets of native, mail and commuter trains from stations from September 5 and can start selling 50 percent the tickets of intercity trains from stations from tomorrow, as the rest will be sold online.

However, BR will continue to operate trains at 50 % capacity to make sure social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Status Minister for Sports and Youth Zahid Hossain Russel, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam, Gazipur City Company Mayor Jahangir Alam and Bangladesh Railways's Director Standard Md Shamsuzzaman were amongst others present at the program, with Railways Ministry's Secretary Salim Reza found in the chair.
