Travellers flying from Dubai Airport can now check-in for select flights, collect boarding passes and send luggage to the airport from The Dubai Mall's new check-in station.
Passengers flying with Flydubai, Saudia, Flynas, China Southern, Kuwait Airways, Gulf Air, SaudiGulf, Royal Jordanian and Ethiopian Airlines can use the service, provided by Dubz and Dnata Travel.
Located on the lower ground level of mall, inside the Dnata Travel store, the counter aims to give travellers time to spend shopping and dining at The Dubai Mall after check-in. Passengers can then take the metro to the airport – baggage free.
The check-in desk will be open seven days a week from 10am to 10pm, and passengers will need to provide passports and answer the same luggage security questions that they would at airport check-in desks.
Antonio Fellino from Dnata Travel UAE, said: "We are delighted to partner with Dubz to offer travellers a convenient way to check-in for their flights from our flagship store at The Dubai Mall."
As well as checking-in and collecting passes at the station, passengers can also weigh their luggage to ensure it is within baggage limitations, before sending it for delivery to the airport to be loaded on to their upcoming flight.
Passengers should still arrive at the airport terminal up to 60 minutes before their flight, and can go straight to passport control.
The service costs from Dh99, for one passenger with one piece of luggage. Additional bags are charged at Dh40 per piece, with a maximum charge of Dh249 for up to 10 bags.
Omar Abou Faraj, founder of Dubz, said: “Traveling and shopping in one of the world’s largest malls on the same day has never been so easy.”
Passengers flying with Emirates from Terminal 3 at Dubai Airport can already use the airline’s home check-in service to most addresses across Dubai. This costs Dh250 for up to seven pieces of luggage.
