All important airports in Bangladesh lack contemporary approach facilities and there are several obstacles, including large delay in obtaining permission for import and export of extra parts for rectifications and overhauling of aircrafts and outdated mode of payments for imported parts, said Aviation Operators Association of Bangladesh (AOAB) today.

The absence of contemporary airspace and air traffic management at the airport and high price of jet fuel are frequent resources of worry for the aviation industry, AOAB said throughout a dialogue with the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) today.

AOAB President Anjan Chowdhury presided over the program titled "Regulator-operators dialogue on essentials to build up aviation sector" held at the Hazrat Shahjalal AIRPORT TERMINAL.

CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal M Mofidur Rahman attended this program as chief guest. AOAB Secretary General Mofizur Rahman provided the keynote at the seminar.

"Worldwide parts trading happen to be done on advance payments through telegraphic transfer of money. In Bangladesh only mode of payments is normally though Letter of Credit. In that case do how you retain the aircrafts serviceable?" Mofizur asked during his speech.

"Most of our airports go with age old airport terminal approach facilities. Actually the gateway airport terminal of the country Hazrat Shahjalal provides CAT 1 methodology," he said.

"It really is almost over ten years and a half we've been hearing that the united states will have modern airport terminal traffic management facilities but nothing tangible is in sight that we find out about," the AOAB secretary basic said.
