Bangladesh- SJIBL opens 125th branch at Arani Bazar in Rajshahi

Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka: Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) inaugurated its 125th branch at Arani Bazar, Bagha in Rajshahi as well as an ATM Booth on the branch premises on August 1.

Alhaj Mohiuddin Ahmed, Director of the Bank formally inaugurated the branch as the chief guest while Abdul Aziz, Additional Managing Director of the Bank presided over the ceremony. Md. Muktar Ali, Mayor of Arani Municipality and Md. Shamsuddin, Managing Director of Barind Medical College and Hospital also attended the event as the special guests. Abdur Razzak, Mayor of Bagha Municipality was also present at the opening ceremony, among other officials of the Bank.

In his speech, Alhaj Mohiuddin Ahmed said that the development of Bangladesh in every sector is noticeable particularly in IT sector. Rural economy is growing rapidly along with the urban and the development has reached every corner of the country. Now it is only a matter of time when Bangladesh will be a fully developed nation.

He also said that Bagha is famous for business. Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd intends to invest more in this region specially in the SME sector for the overall development and business expansion.

Abdul Aziz, Additional Managing Director of the Bank discussed the Bank's deposit and investment schemes elaborately. He also informed that Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd is working hard for overall economic growth of the country and to bring back the rural people under banking services. In this circumstance, the Bank will gradually open new branches in every corner of the country. He further mentioned that Bagha's economy is Agro based. Thus, the Bank intends to invest more in Agro projects of Bagha Upazila.

Recitation from the Holy Quran, Milad Mahfil and Doa were conducted at the opening ceremony on the Branch premises.
