Mini-LED Display Production Improving for Redesigned MacBook Pro Models After This Year

Apple supplier TSMT, a key vendor mixed up in production of mini-LED shows found in the newly announced 12.9-inch iPad Pro, has had the opportunity to handle technical challenges for the production of mini-LED displays to be used in the approaching 14 and 16-inch redesigned MacBook Pro models.

Seeing that reported by DigiTimes, TSMT had primarily been facing production constraints with the circuit board and adhesive materials found in the mini-LED shows for the upcoming MacBook Pro designs. Nevertheless, after adjusting its techniques, TSMT has increased its production yield rates to over 95%.

Due to problems with PCBs and adhesive materials, TSMT's yield rates for exterior installation for miniLED backlighting had not been huge enough originally, the sources noted. After changing PCB and adhesive material suppliers, TSMT features hiked yield rates to over 95% presently, the sources indicated.

The redesigned 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are expected to feature next-generation Apple silicon chips, removing the Touch Bar, the return of the MagSafe magnetic power cable, and a standard new style with an HDMI port and Sdcard slot.

Excitement around these new MacBook Pro styles, that may target high-end professional consumers, has been heightened since the reveal of the M1 chip found in November.
