BMW has launched three new iPerformance plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) in Bangladesh.

The three cars - BMW 530e, 740Le xDrive, and X5 xDrive40e – are now available at the showroom of Executive Motors Ltd, the sole importer of BMW vehicles in Bangladesh, in Tejgaon, Dhaka.

A press conference was held at the showroom on Saturday, to celebrate the new additions.

Dewan Muhammad Sajid Afzal and Md Bazlul Karim, directors of Executive Motors, were present at the press conference along with top officials from BMW.

Dewan Muhammad Sajid Afzal said: “Lower emissions, silent driving, tremendous torque, more driving pleasure – sustainable mobility is the future of mobility. We have reached a milestone in Bangladesh today, by offering customers a range of BMW iPerformance models with electric drivetrains.”

He also said, “We look forward to providing our customers the opportunity to improve the environment while experiencing an entirely new dimension of pure driving pleasure with the power of electro-mobility.”

The BMW iPerformance automobiles represent the most rigorous implementation yet of efficient dynamics in vehicles from the BMW brand. All iPerformance models allow local emission-free driving without compromising the driving pleasure one would expect from a BMW. They combine an electric driving experience and high operating range with functional excellence and everyday practicality.

Visually, the iPerformance range is differentiated from other models of BMWs through i-style blue elements in the kidney grille and wheel hubs, a BMW “i” logo on the front side panel, and an eDrive logo on the C-pillar.

All iPerformance models will come with five years of free service, parts, maintenance and repair. There will be no additional running costs for customers for the next five years from the date of purchase.
